OSB Skateboards?

Well the skateboard isn’t made of “OSB” but it sort of looks like it.

Vehicle Skateboards is working with Pop Master Innovations to bring you a skateboard made from recycled wood fiber veneer substrate and recycled skateboard decks.

From the Vehicle Skateboards site:

“Products are extremely environmentally friendly and can be made from an assortment of recycled Hard Rock Maple products and by-products, including used skateboard decks.
With our Patent Pending Method, high quality maple can be continuously reused for skateboard manufacturing and other applications.”

The burning question is how “tough” are these decks compared to the 7-ply hard rock maple decks we use today? Do they have the same “pop”? Price? Yes, price, that’s what will make or break this new way of making a skateboard.

I don’t see some park rat spending more on deck that may or may not be as tough or last as long as his $50 deck.
