Skateboarding shot at 120 fps with a Red One Camera
This is some pretty amazing slow-mo footage of random dudes skating steps at 120 frames per second–compare that to a normal SD/HD camera at just shy of 30 fps. They are being filmed with a “Red One” HD camera. It’s a cheap (relatively speaking) pro HD camera. Just the camera body retails for around $17.5K. The price will go up once you add lenses and accessories. Yeah, that’s cheap considering other pro HD cameras at 5 to 10 times that price.

FL and SC Random Footage
Found this (don’t ask me how, I just stumbled upon it on cskate.com). It’s from a company called “SoCo Clothing” and they seem to sponsor Tim Johnson. Some of the spots I recognized were Dunedin, FL, Matt’s mini contraption in Isle of Palms, SC, Orlando City Skatepark, and The Hanger Bowl in Charleston, SC., and Kona. Some sick skating going down in this so check it out after the jump.

Dwindle Distribution’s New “Wood Shop”

This Dwindle Distribution video about thier new wood shop (“DSM”) is making the rounds. It’s also upsetting in a way. Why? Well, it looks like this is a Chinese (or Asian) factory. Every worker is Asian, It’s definitely not in the US since I didn’t see a single Mexican.
If you were ever interested in how a board is made (yeah, I know you think you know, but you probably don’t) this is a must watch. Pay close attention ot the way Dwindle modified their presses to make sure each board has the same tail/nose kick and concave (starting around the 4 minute mark)

David Maxwell REVOLT Part 1 of 3
”able1039” responded to my YoutTube video: “Wanchese, NC Skating with Science and Jesse” with this video of Dave “Science” Maxwell ripping in 1993. Dave was ripping curbs, mini-ramps, flat-ground, and vert (as usual). It’s now 2008 and it seems this guy hasn’t slowed down a bit.
from the YouTube Response:
David Maxwell aka Science Fair
Well I finally dusted off an old VHS tape from 1993 and crudely transfered it to digital. Basically, I pointed my camera at a television and filmed it. Anyways, I wanted to share this footage of David Maxwell with the world wide web.I grew up knowing him and looking up to him. The dude was a fucking legend to me. I noticed that there was no good footage of him on the internet so DAMN IT! I’m putting it out there myself. It needs to be done. part 1 of 3

Emerica’s Wild Ride @ Pittsboro (night)
Got the night footage edited and up on vimeo.com. Lot’s of locals (NC types) ripping along with the Emerica dudes. Good times for sure and I hope the “Showdown” will be as good or better. Keep an eye out for the daytime session video (should be up today).

Backyard Action Shots
Skated Some Guy’s Bowl yesterday (Sep. 7) and Jer was out there taking shots. Some of the skaters out there were Mr. Guy, Frank, Matt, Marty, JayRock, netposer, Jon, John, Mark, and Marshal. Here are a few shots Jer took of the action. Jer should come out more and take photos while I film.

“Deathbowl to Downtown”
“Deathbowl to Downtown” is the newest film from the dudes that brought us “Tent City” and “Fruit of the Vine”. It’s the history of skateboarding in NYC. So take a look at their site for videos, photos and more.
